The place houses several temples of goddess Mariamman.Believed to be an incarnation of Shakti, Mariamman is a highly revered Hindu Goddess in this part of the country.

During this festival, devotees are found walking on fire and chanting their prayers to show their complete obeisance to their lords.

Apart from this, there is also a beautiful Kandashramam temple, a small hill temple built in memory of  Muruga, a famous deity down south, located about12 kms away from Salem City.
